Bits and bobs

Tish is on a late today so I went up to Buffalo Creek first thing this morning. A nice selection of things around with the highlight being a Jabiru or Black-necked Stork.
I managed to get some truly awful shots that do it no justice at all...

When I was back and after finishing a few chores such as hoovering the pool etc Hamish and I settled down to build the mechanical marble run that Aunty Jo had given him for his birthday - a mere 300+ parts!
The construction took a while during which time Xanthe and Cameron found other ways to keep themselves amused...

Two hours later we were finally done - it kept them busy for the whole afternoon (other than a brief interlude in the pool).

As the dry gets into full swing the decent off road tracks will start to open up (we will be heading off to Litchfield NP at the end of the month to try a few of the proper tracks) including the one around Holmes Jungle which is just up the road - so obviously the car had to get tried out!

I was quite disappointed - the track was better than our old drive in Scotland!

  1. Like I said on Skype - hadn't realised it would be so enormous, but toy assemblage is what Daddys are for. Well done Daddy! Love Cameron's box.
Would be fun to off road with you in October, but as you said, we'll wait and see, they may well already have shut the roads off by then. But early visit to Buffalo Creek looks a must of it fits round work etc.
