Start off with a question - when is a stick not a stick??????
And then a useless fact - did you know that Wednesday was the last day in our lifetime when the date is the same number all the way across - by that I mean it was 12/12/12; that wont happen again until 01/01/01....
Today was the children's first Christmas Concert Down Under and very enjoyable it was too although to be sitting outside in shorts and singing carols involving snow is bluntly just NOT RIGHT!!!
The concert was a series of musical numbers prepared by each year group.
Hamish's group did When Santa Got Stuck up the Chimney
Xanthe's group did Twelve Aussie Christmases - she was "six cuddly Koalas"
....her Koala in crime is her friend Emma.
As is normal at these things the PCA (PTA in UK) had organised a Christmas raffle for which we dutifully bought all the tickets the children came home with. The raffle was drawn midway through the performance and I payed absolutely no attention to it so was very surprised when Hamish came running up to say I had to go up with him and collect it as there was alcohol and they would not give it to him - WE HAD WON THE XMAS HAMPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the answer to the question is.......
When its a phasmid!
Up the Funnells! Cool stick insect, how big is it?
ReplyDeleteOh well done. What a lovely surprise! Yes - how big is it? It must be so weird singing about snow in all that heat. Bitter cold here - frost everywhere.
ReplyDeletethere must be a market down there for rewriting carols - "In the bleak, hot desert, baking wind made moan; sand was soft & crumbly, water was all gone."
ReplyDeletedo they still have Rolf's 'Six White Boomers'?
