This weekend was Hamish's turn with Colin Cat E Pillar. Colin is part of a school project getting year three students to look at differences between living and non living things.
First of all to ensure family harmony Colin had to be introduced to the other key members of Hamish's family
Once harmony had been assured they were able to settle down for the night
As Colin moves on to Bundaberg (yep home of the rum and other very fine non alcoholic offerings) at the end of the month Hamish decided that he wanted his non living bit to be something related to Yorkeys Knob
What you can't see is that Tish who took the picture was just in her swimming costume much to the amusement of passing drivers (who probably thought we were mad anyway!)
For his living specimen we chose a hawkmoth that I have in the fridge
But it wasn't all work for Colin we did let him loose on the bikes
On Saturday night we had Alan and Jen round for Spaghetti to say thank you for lending me the lawnmower and herbicide I used to spray off some of the weeds!
This afternoon we went round for a cup of tea and the children in between bursts of playing dominos with Jen designed and helped Alan build a scrap dragon (better than a soup dragon if you ask me).
Obviously Alan did the welding but it was all the childrens design and they did the art work
pretty cool eh.
Camerons attire raised a few eyebrows, particularly with Nan (Jens mum)
Whilst we were there the Red-tailed Black Cockatoos re-appeared and gave a few photo ops. Well I took over 300 images and have not sorted them properly but have found a couple of reasonable ones. I managed to get a slightly different eye level view by getting on top of Alans roof (at his suggestion I add).
The views were spectacular
The cockatoos were as curious of me as I was of them, and they are very playful
I also got a photo of an amazing orchid that they have in their garden - it is apparently the national flower of Panama and although the picture does not do it justice the inside of the flower looks like a dove
great dragon. like the cockatoos too.
ReplyDeleteCat e piller is gorgeous. Also the dragon. Clever. Lovely pics.
ReplyDeleteColin clearly has a lot in common with Terry the toocan and F*** the Duck - not exactly camera shy. Excellent
