The long awaited sequel

Here is the sequel to the first film by Xanthe, these are two films of the outside of the house

With Tish sleeping today I took the children out in the morning to give her a chance to get to sleep - once asleep noise is less of an issue but I like to try and make the house quiet to start with.
We took a snack and some toys and went to Knuckey Lagoon.

Cameron was very photo shy today!

It worked out really well as Xanthe is in the process of drawing a picture for a school competition and she was thinking about drawing a Black-necked Stork which is her house bird but she had never seen one. As we were sitting there a pair flew in giving her the perfect opportunity to look at one in real life.

Male (note dark eye)

Female (note the yellow eye)

They are huge and spectacular birds.

Here is a selection of the best of the rest:
Pacific Black Duck and a single Hardhead

Australian White Ibis

Little Corella - normally the first photo is the only view I get of these but today a small group of eight (out of the flock of about 120) landed for a few minutes allowing me to take a couple of OK ish photos

Possibly my favourite group of all kingfishers, in this case an obliging Sacred Kingfisher

Tomorrow the undoubted highlight of the weekend is Hamish's first proper outing on his bike without stabilisers so watch this space for pictures!

  1. Lovely blog! No sound - is that right? You certainly have a lot of greenery. Was it done on a phone?

  3. Palm trees v apple trees. Hmm hard choice. I'll do without the apples if it means sun!
