Dundee Beach Bums!!

It is Picnic Day public holiday today. Our original plan was to go to Leaning Tree Lagoon where we have picnicked before but on getting in the car Tish declared that she wished to go somewhere else so out came the maps and we decided on Dundee Beach. Unlike the Dundee we used to live close to this one had several nice looking beaches - well nice on the map anyway.
The first beach we came to was indeed very nice and our picnic lunch was enjoyed by all. The children went shell hunting and sand surfing (standing at the waters edge and letting the tide rip the sand out from underneath your feet) with the inevitable result as Cameron fell backwards and Hamish got soaked - off came the shorts!
should this be captioned "putting your best face to the camera..."

The shells were not as numerous or as varied as at Lee Point so Hamish and Cameron soon moved onto that other perennial beach favourite - burying mummies feet...
We could see some even better looking beaches off to the south so we decided to head off and explore to see what we could find.
The end result was this little stretch of coast..

As you can see from the last picture you could drive right to the edge and the beach just kept on going. The shells were better here as well.
A great place to while away the afternoon.

  1. I wanted to see if the Leaning Tree was as good as Pisa's offering!
