We have had a quiet weekend as Tish was working both days and so the children and I pottered around and did a few domestic chores such as shopping and cleaning interspersed with some more entertaining activities.
One of the highlights for the children was "cow watching". Although we go to Knuckey Lagoon regularly (too regularly possibly!!) Saturday was the first time that the children really noticed the cattle and were completely fascinated by them..
...now they have all seen cows many times before but for some reason they just could not get enough, it started with Xanthe and Hamish
but Cameron soon joined in!
It has to be said that by the time we left I was not sure who was watching who!
Whilst they were absorbed in all things bovine I took a few birdy pictures with the best being.
Little Pied Cormorant
Pied (Black-winged) Stilt.
On Sunday we went out for a bike ride at Rapid Creek - Xanthe in particular wanted to check that the Frogmouths were still present (they were). Our ride was shorter than intended as Hamish fell off (no real damage done) and I got a puncture from riding through an area where thorns had fallen off a neighbouring tree. On returning home spent the next hour taking thorns out of my tyre and finding and repairing three punctures!!!
Tomorrow is a Public Holiday, it is NT Picnic Day (although I think it was really psychic and is in order to celebrate Team GBs success in London) and we are off to Leaning Tree Lagoon, chosen without any prompting by the kids!
Love the cormorant shot
