OAP, Monkeys and Carols!

The title I hasten to add was written by Tish (well the OAP and Monkeys bit..).
In an attempt to acclimatise Diana we have taken it easy the last couple of days.
On Friday we went down to the lagoon for a swim - we stopped off at Muddies play park for the children to have a run around and for a spot of lunch

We then spent a good hour just relaxing in the water - seeing a fully laden Christmas Tree was in a swimming pool with the outside temperature 35+ is frankly just not right....
Saturday was a very quiet day (other than the washing machine dieing) as I was at work having had a last minute booking the night before.
Sunday was the Yorkeys Knob Carol Concert so we got our picnic ready and travelled the enormous distance to venue - well we walked to the end of the road anyway
Tish was of course orchestrating things.....
It must have been exceedingly hot for the organisers who spent the whole evening in Christmas outfits that looked incredibly heavy. There was the usual mix of things from the school band, a local dance group, a local group called the Blue Tonics and the Cairns Ukulele Club..
Once it got dark the children were messing around with glow sticks etc and I was messing around with the camera, some of these are OK

Tish as normal was just messing around..
The evening culminated with Santa arriving Aussie style on the back of a Hog! He was promptly mobbed and so photo opps were difficult!

The children have only got two more weeks of school then the long summer holidays (not back until end of January 2014!)
Wednesday is their school concert which should be good - last year it was unbelievably hot so lets hope that this time it is better!

  1. More a case of the Hogfather than Father Christmas perhaps...... (though as you aren't a Pratchett fan you might miss that little reference). Not that there are enough bristles on his hog really. Definitely too early for Carols - it's only the 2nd door on the calendar today!

  2. It must seem very odd singing things like In the Bleak Midwinter.
