Today was the Far North Queensland Cub packs Mob outing to Lake Barrine on the Tablelands, we were going to go on a boat around the lake and then a walk through the forest. Tish unfortunately was just coming off a run of night shifts and decided to stay at home to sleep so I took the children along.
It was remarkably cold and for most of the day we were all in a jumper of some sort!
We got there a bit early as I was not sure how long it would take on a weekend, this gave me a chance to have a quick bird around the car park whilst we waited.
I took a couple of better shots Hamish in his uniform
as well as some of the terrible trio
It has to be said that the organisation was not as good as sometimes and the timings were completely out of sink so we ended up hanging around for over an hour before we got on the boat..
whilst we were waiting to board there was plenty to see...
The water in the lake (which is an extinct volcano) is amazingly clear which gave us great views of some of the aquatic life of the lake.
Terrapin spp
Eel spp
The boat trip was great and everyone enjoyed it
After the trip we went for the short walk round part of the Lake as the children did not feel like going the whole way
We were back home by 4pm having had a great day!
Great pics! Love the pelican and Hamish's uniform.
ReplyDeleteThat would be OUT OF SYNC as in synchronising, not as everything and the kitchen...
ReplyDeleteWhere were the rest of the cubs? I thought a mob outing meant Hamish would be meeting up with them all?
(Love the pelican. And of course Hamish looked great in his uniform, mind you tell him.)
OK smarty pants. I took a pic of the Northern Beaches pack but obviously without written consent cant post it, have sent it through to the Scout leader though so it can go on the Scout Hall wall
DeleteVery dodgy, taking pix of children these days. We have to have forms ...
ReplyDeleteLove the Pecilan. Can't believe how tall Xanthe is getting. Hamish looked absolutely great.
