Sunsets

Our best sunsets here co-incide with cyclone warnings. This weekend cairns has dodged another two TC1s - one coming in from the west via the Gulf of Carpentaria and the other from the east via the Coral Sea. We have now had six cyclonic systems this year and not one has really made contact with the east coast apparently reinforcing the study carried out by the University of Queensland that cyclonic activity is at a 500+year low - we have had neither a true Wet or any form of cyclone in the last two years.
Anyway the point being that when we have tropical lows that develop into cyclones we get the best cloud formations and some of the best colours at sunset - during the rest of the year the skies are usually clear at sunset

I have not forgotten the last part of Green Island - I am hoping to scan the pictures today
